This program traces a journey from intimacy and suggestion to lyric brilliance and quiet power.   Fauré’s music for Maeterlinck’s symbolist drama unfolds in delicate shades of longing and restraint. Subtle orchestration and flowing lines create an atmosphere of mystery, with the beloved Sicilienne offering a moment of tender beauty. Graceful, radiant, and full of song, Mozart’s flute concerto pairs effortless lyricism with sparkling virtuosity. The soloist converses playfully with the orchestra, especially in the expressive slow movement. Brahms’s Third Symphony blends strength with introspection. Passionate yet restrained, it culminates not in triumph but in a serene, inward-looking close—one of the composer’s most personal statements.
