Symphonic Shades of Light and Dark
Join us for an afternoon of diverse musical experiences at this concert. We open with Daniel Auber’s energetic “Fra Diavolo Overture,” setting the theatrical tone for an afternoon filled with dynamic compositions. Felix Mendelssohn’s stirring Symphony No. 5 (Reformation) follows, bringing a touch of historical resonance through its powerful symphonic movements. Next, Rimsky-Korsakov’s arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Khovanshchina Act IV Intermezzo, Tableau adds a yearning Russian complexity to the program. Carl Maria von Weber’s Invitation to the Dance provides a delightful interlude with its elegant, rhythmic charm. And finally, the thrilling evocation of pagan witches and spirits in Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain . Experience the variety and richness of these pieces in a concert that promises to be both engaging and memorable.
